🦪 Goodbyes are never easy! Tomorrow is my last day at Oyster® and I had to take a moment to share some gratitude 💕 Returning to startups after a few years away is an incredibly special, illuminating, fun, gritty, and rewarding opportunity. I'm SO glad Oyster® was my return to the startup chapter of my career. The people are incredible, the product is really nailing it, and the mission-centered values are *real*. I became a better comms professional, a more reflective team mate, had some moments to be an intentional mentor, had some moments where I was majorly prompted to grow, met some of the best people in the biz, and bobbed-and-weaved through more change management comms than I ever have! And, Oyster® gave me a professional home after a really rough post-layoff experience, and for that I'm forever grateful.Thank you to the amazing Kris Martinez for bringing me to Oyster, and to Gemma Taylor and Branislav Stankovic for being TRULY the most legendary teammates and professional siblings I could have asked for. I hope the person who joins the team likes to yap as much as the 3 of us. 🗣 *raises GoogleMeet hand*Thank you to the People team for everything (Eryn Marshall, Milly Parker, Stacey Slater, Sav Comley, Gráinne Considine, Wilfrida M. and the rest of the crew!), I'm cheering you on as you continue with a BOLD and meaningful task - supporting hundreds of employees through remote work from anywhere that follows the sun.Thank you to my collaborators! Hibaaq Abdillahi, M.S. for your immediate enthusiastic friendship, and Nneka Idika Daly for the same AND for granting me the wildly fun opportunity to share my voice as the host of the New World of Work Podcast for a season. Camila G. for your continual mentorship / open door / unending smarts (seriously, your brain is a Mary Poppins bag, as is your kindness). To Courtney Rivington, MBA, CPA, CA, Carmen Amador Barreiro, Robert Edmonds (and people I'm sure I'm missing) for just being my pals 💖 Remote work could be lonely but you all make sure its not.And to the rest of the 500+ Oyster pals spread across the world - I expect hello's during Austin visits. I know the best dive bars in town and can eat tacos for all 3 meals. Please say hi when you're here 👋 I'll be taking a family trip to the Jersey Shore 🌊 next week, and then I'm back at it with some very exciting community work. More to come!

My friends Sophie August and Anamaria Dorgo had me on the Mapping Ties podcast recently to talk about internal communities! Sophie and I had such a LOVELY chat. Some of my greatest mentors lovingly repeated "connect it to business value" over and over and over, and I LOVE passing that knowledge baton when talking about community work.Let me know if you give the episode a listen, and check out the other phenomenal guests this season! You just may find the peers you've been looking for 💖

🌈 Looking to invest in queer excellence this Pride month? Please consider donating your latte money (or more!) to my dear friend Brittney Aston. Brittney Aston is the kind of professional (and human 🫶) we need to see at executive tables and executive rooms. They were accepted into Stanford's LGBTQ Executive Leadership Program, and have a monetary goal to hit in just 3 weeks. They have reached over 50% of their goal! Let's close the rest of the gap now.I really really believe in Brittney, and it would mean a lot if you threw some support their way. 💖P.S. Let's invest in opportunities for our queer peers beyond Pride month. But let's start today with Brittney! 😘
