beans ki sabji recipe | beans curry | beans ki sabzi | french beans curry with step by step photo and video recipe. dry curry recipe variant is a popular day to day recipe and made for particular reasons. the flavour and taste are mainly derived from the dry spices added to it and the vegetables used in it. one such flavoured and simple dry curry variant is the beans ki sabji recipe or french beans curry known for its simplicity and taste.
i am not a huge fan of dry sabzi variant and i typically end up with a gravy based variation for my day to day dinner meal. as matter of fact, even my husband has the same requirement. hence i typically avoid such dry variant. yet i have some selected recipes which i cannot avoid. some of these recipes include beans ki sabzi, gobi ki sabzi, aloo fry, and even stuffed eggplant dry. whenever i feel lethargic to make some fancy gravy based one, i end up making these. the best part of these recipes is the preparation time and still delivering the taste. whenever i make such kind of recipes, i serve it with curd or yoghurt so that it becomes easy to digest.
anyway, before wrapping it up, i would like to highlight some tips, suggestions and variations for beans ki sabzi. firstly, the size of the chopped beans is critical for this recipe. the size should not be too small and should not be big and has to be medium in size. the size helps to cook the beans in the required time. secondly, the same recipe can also be made with a gravy base as an alternative to dry variant. you can either use tomato and onion based gravy or a yoghurt based gravy and cook the beans in its sauce. lastly, the recipe is open-ended and can be experimented with other vegetables to make a fusion of dry variant. for instance, you can add aloo to make aloo beans curry.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp cumin / jeera
- 1 tsp kasuri methi
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 400 grams beans, chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp aamchur
- ¾ tsp salt
- 1 tomato, roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
Instructions
firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and saute½ tsp cumin and 1 tsp kasuri methi until it turns aromatic.
add1 onion, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and saute well.
further, add 400 grams beans and stir fry for 2 minutes.
also add ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ tsp aamchur and ¾ tsp salt.
saute for a minute or until spices are well combined.
cover and cook for 5 minutes or until beans are half cooked.
now add1 tomato and mix well.
cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until tomatoes soften.
finally, enjoy beans ki sabji with chapati or rice.

- firstly, you can also add boiled potato along with beans for variation.
- also, adjust the spices depending on spiciness you are looking for.
- additionally, do not add any extra water while cooking beans, as the moisture in beans is enough.
- finally, beans ki sabji recipe tastes great when prepared with fresh beans.
